A look back at the latest Rendez-Vous Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in Brussels on advanced materials!
 
It's now been a month since the 2024 edition of the Rendez-Vous Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in Brussels came to a close, an initiative that once again confirms the commitment of regional players to promoting areas of excellence on the European stage. This year, the focus was on advanced materials in the plastics and chemicals industries, illustrating the strategic importance of this sector for the future of industry.
 
A structuring event for the region
 
In collaboration with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises, Axelera, Infra2050 and Flanders Investment & Trade, a delegation of companies and academic bodies were able to exchange, learn and draw inspiration from European best practices. The dual aim of this year's event was to
 
  • Strengthen the network of regional economic players in Brussels, at the heart of European decision-making;
  • Promote the structuring projects and areas of excellence promoted by regional players.

The Industrial Committee plays a central role in the life and operation of the cluster. Its main mission is to support the industrialization and market access of our members' innovative projects, notably by facilitating their financing.
 
It is made up of financiers, innovation consultancies, industrialists and institutional representatives with complementary skills in finance, business, intellectual property (IP) and market access.

LAMI project (Laiton MIm)

The LAMI project was initiated as part of the “Collaborative Projects / Regionalized I-Demo” call for projects, supported by the Burgundy Franche-Comté Region.
 
 
 
The aim of this project is to develop the Metal Injection Molding (MIM) process, with a view to obtaining burr-free injected components with no machining rework (parts ready for finishing operations).
 
 
 
The aim is to extend the process to new, unconventional grades of metal powders.

Launch of the European BIONTIER project

The European BIOntier project was launched on 10 and 11 October at the premises of the FORTH technical centre, the project coordinator, in Heraklion, Greece. It brings together a consortium of 25 partners from 12 countries. The aim of the project is to establish an integrated industrial platform dedicated to the design and production of new-generation bio-based composites (BioC).

AMULET, the EU-funded project supporting European SMEs, presents its final results

AMULETS’s Final Event held on 16-17 October 2024, during the 13th International Trade Fair for Composite Materials KOMPOZYT-EXPO in Krakow, Poland, brought together over 100 participants including the AMULET consortium partners, most of the 15 funded collaborative projects, as well as representatives from European Commission, ELCA European Lightweight Cluster Alliance members and Fraunhofer IWU or A2LT - Austrian Advanced Lightweight Technology, to celebrate the results of the project and the three years of cluster collaboration that enabled 34 SMEs from 17 EU countries to obtain direct funding to develop innovative solutions.

Discover the results of the EVAPLUS study on the recovery of used plastics in healthcare! Study supported by ADEME, conducted by Alcimed and piloted by Polymeris and ADI Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
An essential component of a wide variety of medical products (syringes, catheters, infusion bags, gloves, gowns, sterile instrument packaging, etc.), plastic is now one of the main materials used in healthcare products. However, as these products are largely single-use, they generate a significant quantity of plastic waste which, at present, is not fully recycled/recovered and often ends up in landfill or incineration.
This raises the question of the recovery of healthcare plastics in France: are there any relevant recovery routes for healthcare plastics in France, or what are the key success factors for forming new ones?
