NEXTFOODPACK kick-off meeting on March 21, 2025 in Dijon
The NEXTFOODPACK project aims to develop a systemic methodology and fundamental knowledge for the integrated design and assessment of packaging to meet a number of requirements in terms of chemical safety, microbiological safety, adaptation to new situations of use and compatibility with end-of-life treatment and recovery.
The innovative approach of the NEXTFOODPACK project goes beyond material substitution, re-imagining the entire packaging life cycle from production to end-of-life, ensuring that each phase respects sustainability principles. Eventually, it will offer a multi-criteria evaluation tool (food safety, use, recycling) to facilitate decision-making.
Labeled by POLYMERIS, this project, led by the Institut Agro Dijon, brings together 15 partners and is financed under the AAP “Emballages et contenants alimentaires et politiques de durabilité: nouvelles contraintes d'alimentarité et impacts sur la nutrition et la santé” (“Food packaging and containers and sustainability policies: new food safety constraints and impacts on nutrition and health”).
The kick-off meeting, scheduled for March 21 in Dijon, will bring together all project partners and supporters.
The project will run for 48 months, with a total budget of over 8 million euros.
