POLREC: Polymer recycling training call for projects

The European POLREC project (Supporting a green and resilient Europe through POLymer RECycling) has launched its Call for Projects for SME Training aimed at the polymer and elastomer industry. Open since May 21, 2024, it closes on August 31, 2024 at   18 :00 CET. The aim of this call is to finance the training of employees working for SMEs in the polymers and elastomers sectors who wish to learn about subjects related to polymer recycling.

Launch of the European SOLSTICE project

The SOLSTICE project, coordinated by Axel'One and in which Polymeris is a partner, was launched today. Its main objective is to demonstrate 4 replicable systemic solutions for the territorial development of a circular and carbon-neutral economy for the major textile sectors. All stages of waste prevention and management will be integrated into a methodology based on the 5Rs: Refuse / Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Repurpose, Recycle.

New governance for POLYMERIS

The Annual General Meeting on June 4, held in conjunction with the FIP trade show at Groupama Stadium, was attended by 250 shareholders, including 120 in person, to mark an important turning point in the governance of Polymeris.
 
Strengthening and continuity of governance
At the meeting, the Board of Directors elected a new governance structure. Joël Viry, head of his new company WiPack, was appointed Chairman, inaugurating a mandate focused on innovation, sustainable development and the notion of multi-materials. The new board is made up of 14 members, representing various Polymeris innovation sectors and covering the cluster's major priority issues: support for SMEs, academic collaboration, circular economy, green chemistry and advanced materials (rubbers, plastics, composites).

Success story following the NPE show

Polymeris accompanied Lab Plastics and IPS on their joint stand at the recent NPE show in Orlando at the beginning of May. We facilitated a meeting between our two members and a representative of the State of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is a state with a strong plastics industry presence, and one that also actively collaborates with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This meeting led to the strategic decision to mutually install their Volontaire International en Entreprise (VIE), Victor Rodier, in Pennsylvania from September 1, in order to develop their activities there. This initiative underlines the importance of international events in stimulating growth and strengthening the presence of French companies on the international market.

Development of a wind turbine recycling platform: the Eolo-HUBS Project

The EoLO-HUBS project is entering its second year with significant advances in the development of sustainable solutions for recycling composites from end-of-life wind turbines. It's already been a year since the EoLO-HUBS project, a European initiative involving 18 partners, was launched with the aim of creating innovative solutions for the recycling and recovery of composites from end-of-life wind turbines. As the first European wind farms reach the end of their operational life, the need to establish waste management strategies, particularly for composite materials, is becoming imperative for the countries concerned.

Polymeris took part in the European Cluster Conference 2024, held in Brussels on May 7 and 8. This biannual conference, organized by the European Commission, brings together key players from European clusters to discuss current and future priorities for cluster policies and sustainable European industrial development.
