PLASTICE: operational results
The European PLASTICE project, funded by the Horizon Europe program, aims to overcome several major technological barriers to plastics recycling by combining digital traceability, advanced recycling processes, and decision-making tools for the circular economy.
The project focused on two key areas:
- improving the traceability and transparency of plastic waste flows through a digital infrastructure incorporating blockchain technologies;
- optimizing the sorting, recycling, and recovery of plastics, in particular through Industry 4.0 and chemical recycling approaches.
