NEW GOVERNANCE FOR POLYMERIS
The Annual General Meeting on June 4, held in conjunction with the FIP trade show at Groupama Stadium, was attended by 250 people, including 120 in person, to mark an important turning point in the governance of Polymeris.
Strengthening and Continuity of Governance
The Board of Directors, meeting on this occasion, elected a new governance. Joël Viry, head of his new company WiPack, was appointed Chairman, inaugurating a mandate focused on innovation, sustainable development and the notion of multi-materials. The new board is made up of 14 members, representing various Polymeris innovation sectors and covering the cluster's major priority issues: support for SMEs, academic collaboration, circular economy, green chemistry and advanced materials (rubbers, plastics, composites).
New Governance Structure
For this new term, Joël Viry will be assisted by six Vice-Presidents:
- VP for SMEs: Olivier Perrier, Managing Director, RAIGI
- VP Circular Economy & Green Chemistry: Maxime Chantegraille, Managing Director, ADDIPLAST
- VP Composites : Luc Uytterhaeghe, Managing Director, IPC
- VP Rubber: Raffaella Ciampa, Managing Director, elanova
- VP Plastics: Simon Gourgaud, Director of Public Affairs, Polyvia
- VP Research & Academy : Jean-Claude Masteau from SYENSQO
The board also includes a Treasurer (Javier Olaiz, Université de Lyon 1), an Assistant Treasurer (Richard Laucournet, CEA), a Secretary (François Chaniot, SACRED) and an Assistant Secretary (Jean-Pierre Queslel, Michelin).
Balanced Ecosystem Representation
- WiPack, Company created in 2023 Design, conception and production of plastic bottles for the Beauty, e-liquid and detergent markets.
- REP International, French manufacturer specializing in injection molding machines for rubber, pasty and liquid silicones, as well as certain other elastomers.
- Carnot Ingenierie@Lyon, federates research teams in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with a world-renowned reputation in systems engineering, materials and innovative processes.
The Board has also co-opted the Université Clermont-Auvergne to join the Board from 2024.
Conclusion of the meeting
At the close of the Board of Directors and Annual General Meeting, a convivial evening was held to strengthen ties and pursue exchanges. Joël Viry emphasized: “I sincerely thank the members and the Board of Directors for their renewed confidence. I'm looking forward to launching this new phase in Polymeris' development with a governance team mobilized for the cluster's growth by 2026!”
