LAMI Project (Laiton MIm)
The LAMI project was initiated as part of the “Collaborative Projects / Regionalized I-Demo” call for projects, supported by the Burgundy Franche-Comté Region.
The aim of this project is to develop the Metal Injection Molding (MIM) process, with a view to obtaining burr-free, machining-free injected components (parts ready for finishing operations).
The aim is to extend the process to new, unconventional grades of metal powders.
Validation will be based on a study of 3 demonstrators proposed by the consortium, in the fields of microtechnology and micro-mechanics.
An LCA of the MIM process and current machining processes will be carried out on the 3 demonstrators in order to estimate the potential gains according to the processes selected, the geometric shapes expected and the equipment used.
The project partners are FEMTO ST, AML PRODUCTION and MICRO EROSION:
- FEMTO ST is in charge of developing charged materials.
- MICRO EROSION focuses on tooling and industrialization of sintering and debinding processes.
- AML PRODUCTION is responsible for tool design and injection operations.
The project will run for 48 months, with a total budget of €1,572,436.
The project will be promoted by the POLYMERIS cluster.
