A look back at the latest Rendez-Vous Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in Brussels on advanced materials!
It's now been a month since the 2024 edition of the Rendez-vous Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in Brussels came to a close, an initiative that once again confirms the commitment of regional players to promoting areas of excellence on the European stage. This year, the focus was on advanced materials in the plastics and chemicals industries, illustrating the strategic importance of this sector for the future of industry.
A structuring event for the region
In collaboration with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises, Axelera, Infra2050 and Flanders Investment & Trade, a delegation of companies and academic structures were able to exchange, learn and draw inspiration from European best practices. The dual aim of this edition was to :
- Strengthen the network of regional economic players in Brussels, at the heart of European decision-making;
- Promote structuring projects and areas of excellence developed by regional players.
Highlights and key moments
Day 1:
- European regulations: a presentation by the European Commission on current regulatory trends in the sector, informing participants of the progress being made at this level for the year 2025.
- Round tables: Discussion on the integration of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes players in European networks such as the IAM-I association and the Technological Council for Advanced Materials.
- European funding: Presentation by the Walloon clusters and NCPs of European funding opportunities and the support available in the region and at European level to best assist players wishing to move towards this type of funding.
Day2:
- Visits to Flanders: Immersion at Flanders Make and POM West-Vlaanderen, two pioneering structures for accelerating industrial innovation.
