The circularity of plastics and polymer-based composites presents a significant challenge for industries such as aeronautics, automotive, construction, and space, which rely on these materials for their superior strength-to-weight ratio. Composites, and in particular Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRPs), while vital to technological advancements, are difficult to recycle due to their complex, heterogeneous structures and strong bonding agents. Addressing these recycling challenges is critical, as the growing composite waste and limited recycling capacity necessitate innovations in recycling technologies and eco-design to enable large-scale adoption of circular practices. It requires collaboration among stakeholders across the value-chain and research and development efforts focusing on support to innovation.
The French cluster for plastics, rubbers and composites Polymeris and the German innovation cluster for the Saxe industry Circular Saxony invite you to a webinar exploring best-practices from France and German in the circularity of plastics and composites. Speakers from the French and German industry will introduce their main innovation technologies, share insights and identify opportunities for potential collaboration across the two ecosystems. The webinar will be hold in English.
